The Vintage Malt Whisky are delighted to announce that Glenalmond Highland Blended Malt has been awarded a GOLD MEDAL at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2020.

Glenalmond passed scrupulous blind tasting by a world-renowned expert panel of specialist judges.  It beat strong competition to win the prestigious accolade of GOLD.   Another great win for The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, showing yet again the quality, care and craftmanship that goes into our brands.

Glenalmond Gold Medal ISC2020

Glenalmond is aged in specially selected bourbon and sherry casks using the best malts from some of Scotland’s finest malt whisky distilleries.  These are married together until the right combination of flavours are achieved and the result is a glorious malt which is dangerously easy to drink.  With sweet malt, vanilla, caramel and a touch of spice on the nose, the palate is soft, fruity with a beautifully gristy sugar, vanilla balance/sherry overtones and the finish is delightfully long and lingering.

Andrew Crook, Managing Director of The Vintage Malt Whisky Company said “Glenalmond is an exceptional blended malt and truly deserving of this GOLD medal.  The brand continues to grow throughout the world, especially in European markets.   There is no doubt this has been a tough year for the industry with tariffs and Covid so Glenalmond being recognised and winning this medal is all the sweeter in these unprecedented times”.

Drinks International publisher and ISC events director Justin Smith said: “The ISC sets the international standard for quality and excellence. Its impressive legacy is founded through the constant development of the competition, the breadth of its ever-evolving categories, the scrupulous blind assessment and the skill set of our expert judges.  The challenge is committed to ensuring fair and accurate assessments in the judging process. Medals are only awarded when the panel agree they are rightfully deserved. To be awarded a trophy in the Challenge is an exceptional achievement and emphasises the quality – and innovation shown by global drinks producers.
